Rolls-Royce cars and SUVs are beautiful, powerful, and legendary in the luxury car world. Having one not only guarantees to make you stand out but also enables you to enjoy any area drive in style and lavishness.

Rolls-Royce will launch its first series-production electric car soon, and it will be a super-luxurious Wraith coupe virtual lookalike.

The first product to arise from this rapid-fire electrification strategy will be the all-new Spectre, which has been previewed ahead of the looming start of what will be a highly publicized on-road development program.

The Company CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös clarified that the platform is “scalable and flexible”, allowing for its use in a variety of vehicle segments, and “was created to form the foundation of not just different internal combustion engine models, as it now does with Cullinan and Ghost, but models with completely different powertrains.”

Features of Rolls-Royce electric car

  • It’s Rolls-Royce’s first electric car rendered
  • It is called the Rolls-Royce Spectre
  • First deliveries will be in 2023
  • Rolls-Royce vows to ditch combustion completely by 2030, so every new Rolls-Royce to be fully electric by 2030

Motors and battery

  • The new Spectre will be the first Rolls-Royce to be powered by two electric motors, which is great considering Rolls-Royce is all about convenience and relaxation.
  • Rolls-Royce is yet to assert what batteries will be used in the Spectre, however, it’s possible to share parts with the recently revealed BMW i7.
  • It is said that the 600bhp-plus twin-motor system deployed in the forthcoming BMW iX M60 could find its way into the luxury brand’s models, as it roughly matches the output of the Goodwood firm’s twin-turbocharged 6.6-litre V12.

Design

  • The new Rolls-Royce Spectre is yet to be completely revealed but from the little we saw, it shows some similarities to the Wraith coupe.
  • Rather than using the Cluster Architecture (CLAR) platform that underpins parent company BMW‘s new i4 and iX EVs, Rolls-Royce is sticking with the modular ‘Architecture of Luxury’ aluminum spaceframe, used for the current Rolls-Royce Phantom and Rolls-Royce Cullinan, that will ultimately underpin all Rolls-Royce models.
  • Camouflage conceals most of the test car’s defining features, but the CEO confirmed that it will retain its “fastback-oriented” design into production, which means it will originally sit relatively unrivaled in the nascent electric luxury coupé segment.

This new model is inclined to be even more luxurious than the ones already on market and will probably be more expensive as well (just a speculation – Rolls-Royce is yet to reveal any specifics on price)

It’ll be the brand’s first electric car and is due to go on sale towards the end of 2023.
