Who are the residents of Serbia
Residents of Serbia are individuals who reside or have a business and personal interests in the territory of Serbia, or individuals who spend in a single stretch or in periods, of at least 180 days or more per year in Serbia.

How to obtain a Residence permit in Serbia
By company formation
A Serbia residence permit will be granted to foreigners who want to start a company in this country. The company can be in form of a sole trader, also it is not mandatory to invest in order to get the residence permit.
To get a Serbian residence permit, foreigners are not mandated to stay in Serbia for the duration of the residence process. All that is required is to come to Serbia 2 times and within 30 days of the process initiation and the Serbian residence permit will be granted easily as long as some specific requirements are followed.
Foreigners will also become tax residents in Serbia a year after the Serbian residency is approved.

Procedure and Requirements to get a Serbia Residence permit
To be granted the Serbian residence permit, the applicant is required to run a Serbian company or an offshore company branch in Serbia.
Alternatively, if the foreigner is appointed a director/shareholder of an LLC, he/she will be allowed to apply for a Serbian residency and can become a resident of Serbia.
To obtain and secure Serbian residency, the following documents are required:
- valid passport
- reasons why you wish to stay in the country,
- details about financial funds,
- health insurance,
- the white card registration,
- visa application forms offered by the authorities.
To acquire and secure Serbian residency, an applicant must also retain a Serbian address.
To get the residence permit, two visits to Serbia are all that it required – first to pick up a “White Card” and to file application, second to pick up the permit in 30 to 35 working days.
After holding residency for at least 5 years, permanent residency can be acquired.
After residency is granted to the applicant, application procedures for the applicant’s immediate family members can then commence, taking an extra 45 working days for them to obtain Serbian residency.

Once the Serbia residence permit is given, the applicant can apply for a work permit.
To get a work permit in Serbia, the following documents are required:

- Certificate copy (original version, and second version translated into Serbian: notarized and apostilled by a notary)
- Certificate from Serbian Business Registration Agency
